Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork

The Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork Program (CLTP) brings Babson alumni, experienced MBA students, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and parents together for an all-day, intensive training session in developmental coaching. This training session teaches the critical skills of observation, leadership assessment, giving feedback, and learning our developmental “Coaching Manager” model. Coaches and undergraduate students then participate in a day-long session during which teams of students discuss their solutions to various business cases.

CLTP provides undergraduate students with constructive developmental coaching on their leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills early in their careers. Developed by Babson Professors Joseph Weintraub and James Hunt, the program is closely tied to Babson’s undergraduate curriculum, with a focus on building self-knowledge and empowering students to help shape their personal development. Student sessions are broken down into programs for first-year students and advanced students (third and fourth-year students).

New coaches receive one full day of professional-level training and learn to provide constructive and developmental one-on-one feedback to students. Coaches then participate in the actual coaching session, which requires six hours of their time. Please contact the Coaching Program at 781-239-4440 or coachingprogram@babson.edu with any questions.
