Overcoming Decision Deficit Disorder

Thomas H. Davenport

Renowned analytics thought-leader, describes the results from his most recent research study on the new landscape of decision-making. He argues that recent decision failures mean that organizations need to systematically examine their approaches to decision processes. He describes new decision alternatives such as the wisdom of crowds, findings from neuroscience, and behavioral economics—and how the new approaches fit with more traditional ones based on analytics and intuition. He also details the findings from interviews with more than fifty companies about how they have improved particular decision processes.
